The height of summer (please don’t be over just yet!) and this calls for ice cold treats straight from the freezer. What better than to make these papaya and apple ice lollies, simply made from puréed fruit alone, and enjoy a healthier treat with no added sugar.

Papaya and apple ice lollies - perfect for summer and made purely of fresh fruit!

My kids barely noticed the difference in their glee at getting a homemade ice lolly. Great for a guilt-free treat for me too!

Papaya is not a fruit I buy regularly but I spotted a pack of them in the reduced section of the supermarket and felt compelled to buy them.

Even more so when the man marking the prices down reduced them a bit more for me!

It has a mellow and tropical flavour with a similar texture to melon.

I remember my kids both loved it when they were babies! Adding the apple sweetens it up too.

Papaya and apple ice lollies - perfect for summer and made purely of fresh fruit!

The lollies were so easy to make, I can see myself filling the freezer with all different kinds of ice lolly now I have these handy moulds.

See the Amazon affiliate link at the bottom of the page for full details.

I’m sending these papaya and apple ice lollies over to the August Bloggers Scream for Ice Cream (BSFIC) challenge with Kavey Eats, which has the theme of fruit this month.

Do check it out for loads of icy summer inspiration!

I used these moulds from Amazon to make the lollies. Disclosure: This is an affiliate link.

These lollies sound amazing! I don’t tend to buy papayas either, but I would also grab them if they were reduced. And then wonder why I don’t buy them more often. I had them a lot in Australia and loved them.
