Lamb is always a favourite, especially for a Sunday roast! Check out my slow cooker lamb with rosemary and garlic and my slow cooker shepherd's pie.
Tips for best results with lamb
- The best cuts for slow cooking are leg of lamb (or a half leg of lamb), lamb shoulder, lamb shanks and neck fillet.
- To make a casserole or tagine you can either buy ready-diced lamb leg or choose a piece of neck fillet and dice it yourself - this often works out much cheaper!
- Lamb is so versatile and can be used with lots of different spices and flavours to add interest. Use it in dishes from shepherd's pie to moussaka, keema curry to pastitsio (a Greek pasta dish).
- If you are based in the USA where lamb is not used as much, you can replace diced or ground lamb with beef in these recipes.
